Médias Tunisiens Engagés (MTE) is an initiative that empowers active citizens from various regions of Tunisia, to work together on tackling important social problems that cannot be solved alone - and communicate their solutions.
The idea behind MTE is to allow contributors from both rural and urban areas to use videos & illustrate the problems that Tunisian society is facing and that are often left without discussion. MTE wants to talk about local solutions to those problems and engage local communities.
The Project was implemented by Fundacja Inna Przestrzeń (The Other Space Foundation) in collaboration with PO-Nad-TO and AJAP (Association des Jeunes Actifs et Positifs). MTE was supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Poland via Solidarity Fund.
The first part of the MTE program
was to train 14 Tunisian activists and support them so they could teach others in their local communities how to shoot and edit videos and use them as a tool for positive social change.
MTE is about openness. The first media of the MTE project is an internet platform opened to any engaged citizen who shares MTE values, respects its rules and wants to contribute.
